Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your ParentSync™ account and all personal data associated with it at any time. This page describes the available methods, what happens to your data after a deletion request, and how long it takes.

1. How to Request Deletion

There are three ways to request account deletion:

In the mobile app

  1. Open the ParentSync mobile app and sign in.
  2. Go to SettingsAccount Delete Account.
  3. Confirm the deletion request.
  4. You will receive a confirmation email at your registered address.

By email

Send an email to support@parentsync.net from the email address registered on your account, with the subject line “Delete my account”. Please include the mobile phone number registered with your account so we can verify your identity.

By contact form

Use our contact form and select “Account deletion request” as the topic.

2. What Happens After a Deletion Request

Once we receive and verify your deletion request:

  • Within 24 hours: your account is deactivated. You can no longer sign in, and you are removed from active user lists in your school or institution.
  • Within 30 days: your personal data is permanently deleted from our production databases. This includes your name, email address, mobile number, hashed PIN, push notification tokens, profile data, and message history attributed to your account.
  • Within 90 days: your data is also purged from encrypted backups, completing the deletion lifecycle.

3. What Data Is Deleted

  • Your name, email address, and mobile phone number.
  • Your hashed PIN and any authentication tokens.
  • Your push notification tokens and device identifiers.
  • Messages you sent or received that are attributed to your account.
  • Your profile photo, if any.
  • Read receipts and acknowledgement records linked to your account.
  • Login activity and usage analytics tied to your account.

4. What Data May Be Retained

For legal, security, and operational reasons, a small set of records may be retained after account deletion:

  • Compliance and audit logs: records required for regulatory compliance (financial, tax, legal disputes) are retained for the period required by law, then permanently deleted.
  • Anonymised, aggregated analytics: usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you (for example, “daily active users”) are retained indefinitely.
  • Abuse and safety records: if your account was the subject of a content report or safety incident, a minimal record is retained to prevent re-registration of bad actors. This record contains only the minimum information required for that purpose.

5. School and Institution Accounts

If you are a school admin or institution owner, you can request deletion of the entire institution account, which removes all associated users, classes, students, and messages. This is a destructive operation that affects all users in your institution. To request institutional deletion, email support@parentsync.net from your registered admin email and we will guide you through the verification process.

If you are a parent or teacher using the app under an institution's account, deleting your account removes your personal data but does not affect the institution's account or other users in the institution.
